Platform Updates

1. Adobe Commerce :  2.4.8-beta1, 2.4.7-p3, 2.4.6-p8, 2.4.5-p10 and 2.4.4-p11 released!

Adobe Commerce 2.4.8-beta1 is a beta version of the latest major release of Adobe Commerce. It includes new features, improvements, and security fixes. It prioritizes critical updates like encryption key rotation and OTP improvements. The platform now supports MariaDB 11.4 LTS and MySQL 8.4 LTS for long term stability. The search engine has been optimized for OpenSearch and the version also offers a boost in performance.

In addition, Adobe Commerce 2.4.7-p3, 2.4.6-p8, 2.4.5-p10 and 2.4.4-p11 versions were also released during the last month. These security-only patches were rolled out to address 20 vulnerabilities identified in  the previous Adobe Commerce versions. 

2. Adobe Commerce’s Community Picked Features Of The Month

Magento’s Open Source Community has a direct impact on the platform’s development. Through a community driven process, developers can submit pull requests (PR) that are voted on by the community. The most popular PRs are selected and added to the dashboard, labeled “Project: Community Picked”.

In the past month, the community selected a new batch of 15 PRs covering both the core Magento 2 repository and the Page Builder repository. 

3. Adobe Launches GenStudio: The Future of AI-driven Content Creation

GenStudio is the shiny new tool in Adobe’s repertoire.  Adobe GenStudio is a powerful AI-driven platform designed to create and manage content for marketers. This new tool leverages the power of generative AI to generate a wide range of content formats, from images and text videos and designs.

The platform also offers a vast library of pre-built templates for a variety of marketing assets, which can be easily customized to fit specific campaign requirements. By streamlining workflows and accelerating content production, GenStudio allows marketers to focus on strategy and insights, ultimately delivering personalized content experiences that resonate with their audience and drive measurable results. 

5. Shopify Empowers Store Owners With Enhanced Permissions

Shopify has introduced a new feature called “Admin User Permissions” which is now available to everyone. This feature allows Shopify store owners to grant specific permissions to different admin users, giving them control over what actions they can perform within the store’s admin panel.

This granular control over user permission enhances security and helps maintain the integrity of the store. The store owner can now assign various permissions to different users, such as limited access, standard access and full access.  By implementing this new feature, Shopify aims to provide store owners with greater flexibility and security in managing their online stores.

6. Improved Location Management On Shopify

Shopify has recently introduced a new location settings index page, designed to make managing store locations more efficient and user-friendly. This update includes filtering capabilities, allowing merchants to easily search and sort their locations based on various criteria, such as location name, address, status etc.

With this new feature, Shopify store owners can quickly identify and manage specific locations, making it easier to regulate their physical and online store operations.

1. YouTube Shorts Gets New Poll Stickers

YouTube just got more fun! With the new Poll Sticker feature, creators can now add interactive polls directly to their short videos enabling viewers to engage with the video and participate and share their opinions. This feature is a great way for the creator to engage with their audience, gather insights about audiences’ likes and dislikes, and create more interactive and immersive content.

2. LinkedIn Introduces New B2B Advertising Features

LinkedIn is making waves in the B2B marketing world with its latest advertising features. Over the past month, the platform introduced numerous new features and tools to help businesses reach their target audience more effectively. 

The newly introduced extended AI tool – Accelerate, offers enhanced targeting options, creative customization with Microsoft Designer integration, and an AI marketing assistant to guide marketing campaigns. In addition, In-Stream Video Ads that appear alongside publisher content allow businesses to further enhance their reach.  The platform also offers amplified event promotion capabilities to help maximize attendance and drive registrations. 

3. Instagram Drops New Digital Business Cards: Profile Cards

Instagram has launched a new feature called Profile Cards, which essentially acts as a digital business card for instagram profiles. These cards are customizable and shareable, making it easier to connect with others on the platform.

These Profile Cards feature a scannable QR code for quick access, customizable backgrounds to showcase the user’s personal style, link previews to highlight their best content, and even add background music to enhance their performance. With Profile Cards, users can easily network and promote their brand better.

4. YouTube Shorts Gets New Features

YouTube Shorts was recently updated with some interesting new features. One of the biggest changes in the app is the extension of the duration of Short videos from 60 seconds to 3 minutes. This allows creators to provide longer forms of content like tutorials and demos, giving them creative freedom. In addition, YouTube has also introduced the “Shorts template”, enabling users to apply trending templates, including pre-saved audio, to recreate popular videos effortlessly. 

5. Amazon Ads Leverages AI To Revolutionize Ad Creation

Amazon Ads has launched a couple of new AI powered tools to help advertisers create more engaging and effective campaigns. The all new AI Creative Studio and Audio Generator are launched to simplify ad creation across image, video, and audio formats. AI Creative Studio centralizes Amazon’s creative tools, letting brands quickly create and adapt ad content, including visuals from single product images. Audio Generator enables custom audio production, allowing advertisers to expand into audio channels.
